Hafizuddin bin Fauzi

Operations Manager, Johor Bahru

We brought slatehorna in after noticing consistent delays at our inbound dock that we could not trace to a single cause. The Flow Snapshot mapped the issue clearly — three overlapping handoffs that nobody owned. Having it drawn out made it straightforward to fix.

Procurement Lead, Kulai

The Improvement Study took about five weeks and covered our supplier lead times in detail. The priority list was what I found most useful — there were probably twelve things they could have flagged, but they gave us the three that would make the most difference with the least disruption. That is what we needed.

Ahmad Saufi bin Mokhtar

Director, Pasir Gudang distributor

We are about a third of the way through our advisory partnership and the monthly sessions have been steady and focused. Zulkarnain is direct — he does not pad the conversations. Our warehouse team has started applying some of the frameworks on their own, which was not something I expected this early.

Supply Chain Executive, Senai

For a RM 510 engagement, the flow diagram alone was worth it. We had tried to draw this ourselves twice before and it never captured the actual sequence correctly. slatehorna got it right in the first visit. The findings note identified two issues we had been living with for over a year.

Wong Yoke Fung

General Manager, Kempas factory

The Improvement Study confirmed some things we already suspected and surfaced one issue we had completely missed. The written report was dense but organised — our logistics team read it properly rather than skimming, which tells you something. Turnaround was within the agreed six weeks.

Norzaini binti Zakaria

Logistics Coordinator, Ulu Tiram

I was sceptical about bringing in external advisors because we had tried it once before and the output was generic. This was different. The team actually walked the floor with us. The findings were specific to our layout and our processes, not something from a standard checklist.

A Closer Look at Three Engagements

Flow Snapshot Two-week engagement · Johor Bahru distributor

The Situation

A household goods distributor with around 30 staff was experiencing consistent delays between order receipt and picking. The operations manager had a rough idea of where the problem sat but could not pinpoint the cause clearly enough to address it.

The Work

The Flow Snapshot mapped the order-to-dispatch process across one full day of operations. The resulting diagram showed three stages where responsibility was unclear and goods sat idle while staff waited for sign-off from supervisors who were not always available.

What Changed

The findings note identified two adjustments: one to picking sequence and one to how supervisory sign-off was handled. Three months later the operations manager reported average order processing time had reduced by roughly 40 minutes per batch.

Improvement Study Five-week engagement · Senai manufacturer

The Situation

A plastics component manufacturer was preparing to onboard a new major customer with significantly higher order volumes. The operations director wanted an honest assessment of whether the current supply chain setup could absorb that increase without visible strain.

The Work

The Improvement Study reviewed supplier lead times, raw material buffer stock levels and outbound delivery scheduling over five weeks. The team identified three areas where the operation would be likely to struggle at higher volumes, along with suggested adjustments in priority order.

What Changed

The manufacturer addressed two of the three priority areas before the new customer came on board. The onboarding period ran without supply disruptions. The third item — a longer-term supplier diversification question — remains in planning.

Advisory Partnership Four-month engagement · Pasir Gudang trading firm

The Situation

A trading firm with Singapore supplier relationships and Malaysian distribution was managing rapid volume growth with a small operations team. The director wanted an outside perspective on how to structure decisions during a period of change, without committing to a major restructure.

The Work

Monthly advisory sessions over four months covered supplier coordination, local freight scheduling and a review of inventory holding decisions. Between sessions, the lead advisor was available for questions on specific decisions as they arose.

What Changed

By the end of the engagement, the operations manager and two senior staff had developed confidence in applying a structured review approach to supplier decisions independently. The director described the outcome as the team learning to think about the supply chain rather than just manage it.
